I just sat down to write a new journal entry and suddenly remembered that I needed to make pasta salad for my husband to take to his potluck at work tomorrow! I put the noodles on now to boil and will go back and finish when they are done.

I've started reading The Hiding Place by Corrie Ten Boom. I've wanted to read this book for a long time and was finally able to get it from the library. This is the book of Corrie and her family and how they helped to hide Jewish people during WWII. It has always seemed like an amazing little family and although I know it will be sad, I'm looking forward to finishing it and reading her story of faith and courage.

Tomorrow is Friday, and then is Saturday...this is a rare Saturday that we don't have any sort of plan or obligation laid out ahead of us. We are thinking maybe we will watch a movie. I plan to do some serious sleeping in (hahah- I always wake up before 6:00 or 6:30am). Even if I wake up early, the not having to go to work part makes it seem like I'm sleeping in later than I actually am.

It is so hot here-we broke some records last week...it was over 115. Today was around 108 I think, although I didn't confirm. It is too hot to eat much so I've been having a lot of salad. My husband and son just eat normally, they don't seem to change any of their food habits no matter the temperature or anything outside. I have a much smaller appetite when it is hot, and cool salads and fruit tastes good to me. It is good and I've recently lost 3 pounds, so ... great!!!!

Ok-off to make the pasta salad.
